Oh Oscar..

My boyfriend is a bit of a gem. And if you are interested in a good laugh, you would do good to check out his links in the comments section of my blog.

I started a blog message the other day but didn't even have the opportunity to finish it. I have been so busy with my new job. Yep, that's right, I started a new job this week. I'm working for a fundraising office now for a non-profit and I couldn't be more excited. It's already been busy and a little hectic, but I've got lots of good support with my friends, especialmente my lovely boyfriend, and my family. So, needless to say, I'm psyched!
About the Oscars too! I can't wait to see who will win tomorrow. While I liked Brokeback Mountain, and I know what it would mean for it to win, and I'm just glad it was made, I don't really think it deserves the best movie Oscar. I just thought it dragged too much in the beginning. Quien sabe?? Anything can happen...

OH! I'd like to include a link that goes along with the one my wonderful boyfriend posted. I think it's hilarious!

Figure 8

Tonight is going to be the night for all of the figure skating fans out there. Our ladies are going up against really awesome competition for the gold. I like this Sasha Cohen girl, but sometimes she makes some scary lookin' faces: There was another "scary" pic of her, but I couldn't find it. Of course I know it's because she was exuding confidence over the rink and she did do a really wonderful job. So good on her!

I really enjoyed Emily Hughes' short program. She came in at the last moment and she skated with a little nervousness, but a lot of spirit. I think she could take it all! She's got just enoughhootspa I think. Good on Emily as well!

Good luck to all the women! And don't forget to watch!

Curlers of America: UNITE!!

Well, it's a sad day for the curlers of America. Actually, just for the women. The US women's curling team conceded victory to the UK and are out of the medal round. The men's team is going on to the semi-finals against Canada on Wednesday. Hopefully they'll win and then go for the gold with either Finland or Great Britain. I hope it's the UK. And then we'll stick it to them for the women too!

What was very exciting was the ice dancing! A lot of people of course, don't view this as a "sport" and one that should be included in the olympics. Too bad! Because it is very lovely to watch and it makes me want to be an ice dancer. It's v. exciting! And the US team took Silver. It was the first medal in thirty years for any US Ice Dancing Team. V. good on them!!

There was also some drama going on too with the Italian team. Sheesh! It's also going to be an exciting day for the bobsled teams! I love the olympics!!

Curl, baby, curl..

I had a wonderful time in Austin visiting for Valentine's Day. It was a lovely time and I can't wait to see my wonderful boyfriend again!

While I was visiting, I got the opportunity to rest and relax and watch some Olympic excitement on tv. It has been a bit distressing to know that the olympics is losing out to American Idol, but oh well. I am particularly taken by one sport: curling. I find it fascinating that this is an olympic sport. I'm sure if anyone who follows this sport is reading this, I'll catch some flack. Maybe it's because I don't understand it so well. But I think it's interesting to watch. And equally exciting that the US Women's Team made it to the medal round and will face Sweden tonight!

A little sad that my boyfriend mentioned to me that Baseball is no longer going to be on the lineup for the Summer Olympic games. What a tragedy! In any case, here's some information about curling: http://www.usacurl.org/

Early V-Day

Have you been to Austin??

I have..woo..many a time..visiting now. I have become quite fond of Austin, not only considering my boyfriend lives there, but also because it's quite an interesting town. Weird to say the least. I like it here though. And of course, spending the time with my beau ain't so bad either. I am so happy about Valentine's Day this week too! I haven't had a good one in a while and I'm excited.

One of my best good friends had a birthday party this weekend and we had a blast. There were mariachis, bingo and cakes of all kind. How could you beat that?? I hope everyone has a wonderful week and a super, splendid Valentine's Day!!

Do I smell birthday cake??

I'm super excited about this coming weekend!!

My new boyfriend, yes, I have a new boyfriend, is coming into town this weekend for one of my best good friend's birthday parties. I couldn't be happier. I know something is going to happen soon to end all of this happiness. A born pessimist is what I am....and a guilty Catholic too! So, I'm sure now everyone wants to know why my boyfriend has to come into town, since I live in town and my friends all live in town. He's a student in Austin! So there. And he is one of the brightest, sweetest, most wonderfulest people I have met in a looooooooooooooooooong time.

It took a while, but I'm glad I allowed myself to think he and I had a possibility, because it has become such a good possibility and hopeful probability that I'll be able to keep him for a while. Maybe later I'll post a pic..
